It's easy to see how this would be an advantage for the client. Clients have the opportunity to have many people working for them. Open mandates share some similarities with mult-listing mandates because several agents may be working one listing. The difference is in the agents who have access to the listing. This provides some of the same benefits that open mandates do. However, the sharing of commissions provide a motivation that is not there for agents participating in open mandates.

Sole mandates only allow you to work with one Mayfair agent at time. The commission belongs to them totally. The agent gets the commission even if you find a buyer through other channels. It is common for agents to get other estate agents to help them sell or find property and then given them a share of the profits; however that arrangement has no bearing on the contract between them and you.
